Greek Islands to visit this summer!
When someone thinks about Greece the first thing that comes in his or her mind is the Acropolis, the Temple of Zeus, the Greek mythology, or the Greek cuisine. But the real beauty of Greece lies in it’s islands. There are more than 2000 Greek islands which are visited by more than 30 million tourists every year. Mykonos and Santorini are stacked with tourists every year but if you want to relax and tan in the Greek sun, you are better off with islands like Zakynthos, Corfu, Rhodes or Aegina.
1. ZAKYNTHOS

Zakynthos is the third largest Greek island in the Ionian sea and is a popular tourist spot in the summers. Myrtos beach on Kefalonia and Porto Katsiki on Lefkada are best for relaxing in the summers, but head to the Shipwreck Bay of Zakynthos for some bungee jumping or skydiving.
2. CORFU

If you are planning a trip with your family, Corfu is your best bet. The calm atmosphere and secluded beaches make way for a great family trip away from all the crowd. Also, accommodation is readily available throughout the year.
3. MYKONOS

If you want to spend some time partying in Greece, book a yacht and leave for Mykonos with your friends. Mykonos is an island which never sleeps. Parties go on for as late as 7:00 AM in the morning. Also, you might even run into your favorite celebrity while in Mykonos as it is very popular among the celebrities due to it’s party culture.
4. CRETE

If you want to experience the Greek culture and mouthwatering Greek cuisine, head to Crete with your friends and family. Almost everyone in Athens has their family roots in either Crete or Kefalonia. Crete is the largest Greek island and you will never run out of famous places to dine. And don’t forget to take some wine along with you when you leave.
5. KEFALONIA

Kefalonia is another Greek island which is famous for it’s wineries. People from Kefalonia take great pride in making wine at their homes. They have been passing this wine making tradition to their children for centuries. And also, Kefalonia boasts some of the best sceneries in Greece.
6. SANTORINI

Tourists, tourists, everywhere!!! Santorini is crowded with tourisits almost the entire year. The architecture in Santorini attracts a lot of tourists to visit this Greek island. Moreover, many famous movies have been shot in Santorini. Everywhere you see there are white buildings with square shaped windows.
7. RHODES

Rhodes boasts mesmerizing Turkish architecture. It’s a famous place for Greek weddings. The blend of the Turkish and the Balkan culture makes way for some very beautiful buildings. Recently, Rhodes has banned foreigners from having their wedding at this Greek island.
8. AEGINA

If you ever plan to stay in Greece for a longer period, rent a place in Aegina. Aegina is one of my personal favorites. The calm blue waters and the mountains make way for some of the best quality time in Greece. You are always away from all the hassles of the big city. Just rent a bike and cycle along the coast of Aegina!!!
